DEPARTMENT OF COOPERATIVE GOVERNANCE

The vision of the Department of Cooperative Governance is one of having a well co-ordinated system of Government consisting of National, Provincial and Local spheres working together to achieve sustainable development and service delivery. The Department intends to invest in human capital, increase integrated technical capacity directed at service delivery and promote representivity in the Department through the filling of this post. The candidature of persons whose appointment/transfer/promotion will promote representivity will therefore receive preference.

REQUIREMENTS                  : A three-year Bachelor’s degree or a three-year National diploma in Economic

Sciences/Development Studies/Humanities or equivalent qualifications. A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a related field. A valid driver’s licence. DUTIES                                    :          The successful candidate will perform the following duties: Maintain the MIG

fund administration system and implementation thereof, including: scheduling, transferring, monthly expenditure reporting and analysis, withholding, stopping and reallocation. Consolidate the financial and non-financial reports by municipalities as per legislative requirements through the utilisation of MIG MIS. Coordinate projects site visits and assist with the evaluation of site visit reports. Assess the project management unit business plans in line with the funding criteria of MIG and monitor the functionality of the unit. Assess the

 

project business plans of municipalities to meet the general and specific sector requirements.
